Are you ready to bring your strategic logistics leadership and process improvement expertise to Oregon’s largest fire district?

Are you forward thinking and enthusiastic about working with an engaged leadership team to help open a new logistics facility and align process and workflows for and between all three logistics departments - Supply, Facilities Maintenance and Fleet Maintenance?

The Director of Logistics is an existing position, open due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent. Reporting directly to the assistant chief of business, the position is responsible for providing leadership and innovative, strategic direction for the District’s supply, facilities maintenance, and fleet maintenance departments that supports TVF&R’s vision, mission, and goals in this complex, dynamic organization.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

The successful candidate will immediately lead the final steps of moving the division into a new logistics service center and work with department managers to develop process and workflows to ensure optimum budgetary and productivity efficiency. This is an exciting and highly anticipated project completion for which the team and many others in the organization have worked tirelessly to see come to fruition. 

This is a critical role for the organization and the opportunity is coming open at a time for the right candidate to make an immediate impact on moving the organization forward to meet its objectives now and into the future.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required. Preference for academic focus in supply chain management, logistics, or business management systems.

 

Experience:

  • Eight years of experience in logistics management in one or more functional areas, including but not limited to: facilities management, fleet management, or supply chain management, preferably in a mid to large sized organization.
  • Three years in a management role that includes formal supervision of personnel and accountability for defined fiscal resources and program outcomes.
  • Experience in development of strategic plans and organization-wide policies aligned with organizational objectives; development and support of capital planning and improvement plans; implementation of continuous improvement methodology (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management [TQM]); implementation of lean manufacturing principles; and/or budget preparation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining a positive experience for customers, including metrics to measure client satisfaction and methods to increase employee effectiveness.

Compensation:

The annual salary range within a step system for this position is $129,300 – $174,940. The starting pay assignment, based on a candidate’s bona fide factor analysis in accordance with the District’s pay equity system and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $145,915.
