Are you an architect or project manager looking for autonomy in your work, variety in your projects, and the opportunity to work on some of the most impressive buildings in the region?  The United States Courts for the Sixth Circuit is seeking a strategic-thinking Assistant Circuit Executive for Space & Facilities to join our team. 

 

Position Summary

The Assistant Circuit Executive for Space & Facilities is a senior level position that provides leadership, coordination, and guidance on space and facility projects within the Circuit.  The major responsibilities and duties of this position include the following:

  • Manage space and facilities projects; create and maintain project budgets, design objectives, schedules, and scope(s) to guide specifications; translate functional requirements into a space-needs plan.
  • Advise and represent the Sixth Circuit in all phases of courthouse development and alteration, including professional guidance in the areas of design, construction, furnishing, and occupancy.

  • Ensure compliance with federal policies and regulations; provide leadership and professional assistance in the resolution of facilities issues.

  • Provide technical advice and support to Judicial committees and advisory groups. Serve as liaison with the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, the General Services Administration, the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Sixth Circuit courts on national issues affecting courts’ space and facilities needs, which can include courthouse security projects. 

  • Ensure project timeliness by coordinating stakeholder deliverables during successive project phases; provide continuous updates to concerned parties; recommend improvements or changes; perform cost evaluation and control during project phases.

  • Conduct site visits to monitor compliance and prepare punch lists.

  • Salary Range is $102,490 – $166,500 

  • Provide oversight and management of the Sixth Circuit Space & Facilities unit.

  • Qualifications

  • Required:  Ten years of successful project management work experience in the architectural and/or construction fields. Demonstrated experience leading, directing and, managing people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including: ability to articulate ideas, both verbally and in writing; highly precise, detailed and self-organized. Ability to work under pressure and within the constraints of conflicting deadlines.  Proactive, problem-solving approach. Travel is required.

    Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree in architecture or facilities-related field.  Current professional license.  Experience in a court, government agency, or equivalent environment.  Experience working with the General Services Administration.
