Cherokee Town and Country Club is looking fora responsible Maintenance Technician that ensures all Cherokee members and guests are received immediately and courteously upon arrival and are assisted as efficiently as possible. Demonstrate a positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, and professionalism to the membership, guests, and fellow employees. Must be a 'team' player.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Maintain the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining the physical asset of the property under the direction of the Property/Operations Manager.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

Ensures that work area is safe and secure

Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.

Assures safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.

Maintains high standards of quality

Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations

This job requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.

Job Tasks/Duties

Troubleshooting plumbing and electrical issues, including flush valve and drain issues and power distribution issues.

Event setups including tents and A/V equipment

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with Company personnel, management, vendors, and service providers.

Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or maintenance concerns.

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Have a sense of urgency with all tasks and be able to meet deadlines

Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, meetings, and presentations.

Performs daily quality checks

Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.

Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

Perform job duties with minimal supervision

Performing on-call emergency service as required, including nights and weekends.

Always Operate with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) standards and company safety policies, as well as being responsible for all tools and equipment belonging to the company.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Attends employee and staff meetings

Performs other duties and tasks, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Three+ years of experience as a commercial maintenance technician

Ability to communicate in English with members, co-workers and management

Basic electrical knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to communicate in multiple languages

HVAC/ refrigeration and or Commercial Kitchen appliances knowledge

Technical school

Knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and general building trades

Licenses and Special Requirements


CMRT (The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician)

Classification: Nonexempt $15.00-$17.00 hourly
