Located in Madison, the Division of Facilities Development & Management (DFDM), in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking to hire a Trades Section Chief for the Bureau of Building Management. The Trades Section Chief is responsible for providing leadership to the multi-discipline trades group serving the state-owned facilities portfolio in Madison.

Position Summary:   
The Trades Group Section Chief position this position serves as the manager and director of the Trades Group Section in the Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Facilities Development & Management (DFDM).  As section manager, this position has responsibility and decision-making authority for trade related building maintenance and construction projects, trade staffing and project planning, trade worker scheduling and supervision of the DOA central trades group. This position also specifically plans, directs, and supervises the trade workers in the section and is responsible for the development and management of maintenance activities in DOA managed facilities. Qualified applicants will have experience in construction/trades leadership (e.g. taking lead, acting as lead worker, supervision, or similar), project management (e.g. construction management, including estimating, scheduling, or similar), and building maintenance (e.g. maintenance repair and remodeling projects, working in a building trades field, or similar).

In addition, well-qualified applicants will have experience in developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures, maintaining a program for the training of staff, and tracking and scheduling work requests or projects within a computerized management system.
