Do you love landscaping? Are you great with attention to detail? Cherokee is looking for a Landscaper that ensures that all Cherokee property is maintained and exceeds members expectations. Someone who takes pride in landscaping and enjoys landscape beautification!

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Works under the supervision of the Director of Golf Course Operations, Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents and performs a variety of tasks pertaining specifically to the golf course and/or clubhouse grounds.

Responsible for opening/closing duties for shift worked

Mow grass

Trim greens

Fertilize and water grass

Rake traps

Mow rough

Change cups, tee towels and markers

Mow green banks or tee banks

Mow fairways

Maintain equipment

Spray chemicals

Irrigate course

Care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, annual plants and turf grass areas around the clubhouse and landscaped areas on the golf course.

Physical Demands

Required to walk often and stand for long periods of time

Required to use hands to hold, carry, handle or feel

Required to reach with hands and arms

Required to talk and hear

Occasionally required to bend, lift or climb

Often required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)

Occasionally required to lift heavy weights (50 pounds or greater)

Finger dexterity required

Hand coordination required

Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus


High school diploma or equivalent

Must be able to work weekends

Perform landscaping tasks in all types of weather (heat, cold, rain, etc)

Preferably has some knowledge of lawn and/or golf course maintenance, but no previous experience is required.

Reports To: Landscape Superintendent/Project Manager

Classification: Non-exempt $11.00 hourly

AM Shift 6:30 am 3:00 pm
