Things to do in the Jackson Hole Area and the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks

Jackson Hole, WY

The Town of Jackson is the county seat of Teton County and the only incorporated municipality in the county. Jackson is the name of the town, and "Jackson Hole" as it's often called, refers to the whole area, which is a 50 mile-long valley, surrounded by high mountains. The current population of Jackson is approximately 8,647.

Jackson is a popular tourism destination because of its proximity to Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, its unmatched scenic beauty, the world-class skiing, and its western character.

The mission of the Town of Jackson is to provide a high quality of life and to protect and enhance values that accomodate a diversity of lifestyles within the community, while promoting a healthy and stable economy that embraces sensitivity and respect towards the environment.

A great resource is the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort website, which gives an overview of year round activities in the Jackson Hole area, as well as the national parks.
